It was FREEZING here today.
My kids were bundled up even in the house with the heat running.
My little Beauty had a fuzzy scarf wrapped around her head.
When the last bit of warm sun came through our front door window, I grabbed my camera.
My son is so funny.
He is wild, LOUD, and very tactile. He has to touch everything and everyone!
This gets him in to trouble, but is also the trait that makes him not think twice about to giving me a kiss or a hug in front of his buddies.
He is so very caring and thoughtful too.
The other night when we were eating dinner I made something new. I watched as he took a bite and he made a little face.
“What’s wrong, don’t you like it,” I ask…he is quiet for a minute and doesn’t really say yes or no but instead looking at me and reading the expression on my face (he can tell I want him to like it) he says this:
“Thank you for making dinner for us every night, so we can be healthy. Thank you for buying the clothes we like. You always get the toys we like at the store too. You are a special mom and no one is the same as you,”
I swear on all that I am, that is what came out of his mouth!
The words every mother longs to hear, I almost cried right there.
Sensitive boys/men come in all packages. I am sure many people who have spent time with my son as he is yelling and wrestling with every boy insight, would be shocked to hear this.
But I know my sweet sensitive son, and I know this is how he really thinks even if others don’t always see it on the outside.
I just wished I had a secret nanny cam going!

My little soccer stud has been a bit….spacey?….this season.
Watching other teams and girls pass by instead of getting after the ball at the game.
But this Tuesday night he had an awesome practice and was back to his ball attacking self.
He also seemed to really have a good time with the boys and reassured me that he was really into the soccer thing.
I just want him to be involved in something and have fun doing it. I like soccer. I like that he plays with a team and that there is a lot of running involved.
Boys need activity, especially him!

This is the first ever picture of all the new generation of cousins!
My sister was here for 10 days and we still were rushing to get pictures in, I swear where does the time go!
Also note to photographer self…….do not take your own kids to a park with a lake and think you can watch them and still take pictures of your sister and her baby!
Here are some out-takes, and some pics of my sister and my darling nephew!

My baby is four, where has the time gone?
She is so silly, soooooo girly, and precocious. She is smart and fussy about details, the very definition of a Miss Priss for sure.
I can only laugh as I realize she is so much like me.
She is the first one to hug me when I feel out of it, without saying a word at four she gets me.
I love her big round brown eyes and and crinkled nose as she squeals with laughter.
I love that she packs a purse full of lip gloss to pick her brother up from the bus stop, and runs to embrace him as he hops off the bus. Then she does everything in her power to pester him to death for the remaining part of the afternoon.
I love that she is obsessed with a mini shampoo bottle she found in my bathroom drawer. She declared it “so cute” and now keeps it in her room. Anytime I ask her to take a shower she runs and gets it and oohs and ahhs over it’s cuteness again.
I love that she loves HOT PINK. Anything hot pink….a dress…. a pair of underwear…….a pair of shoes…..a hot pink paper napkin, it doesn’t really matter. Hot pink just makes her feel good.
I love my little Beauty…….
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Today is my big guy’s first day of first grade.
I know I was more nervous than he was. I woke up at like 5:30am and couldn’t go back to sleep.
I just have all the mommy jitters…..
will he know where to line up when he gets off the bus?
will he find his friends in other classes to sit with at lunch?
will his teacher see his sensitive and loving spirit through his all boy/playful exterior?
will he remember which bus to get back on?
He on the other hand woke up at a leisurely 7am and cool as a cucumber and ready for whatever happened next.

Today was my little Beauty’s first day of preschool.
We got off this morning with just one small hitch….
She was up in her room crying and throwing a fit surrounded by a sea of clothing cast-offs. She declared that she had “nothing to wear”.
She is only almost 4 people !!!! Her teenage years are surely going to kill me.
