hello there-

I am Jessica Ross, a portrait photographer working in Denver, Colorado. Through my photography I try to find the joy and honesty in everyday events, capture emotions, document relationships and showcase personality. On this blogsite I will share recent client work, my thoughts, and my family. As the saying goes...art comes from your heart. All of these things are what make up mine. It only makes sense for them to be all in one place, thus the blogsite was born. -Jessica Ross

The “D” Family

December 30th, 2010

Oh my goodness, you could just eat these boys up they are so cute! Seriously their parents make some beautiful babies.

Little “M” was shy at first but as we got to know each other he was full of smiles!

Baby “F” was so cute and furry. After having a pee on Dad and most of my stuff he drifted off to la-la land with some help from my portable heater.

Both Leslie and Colin were great sports and very patient with the boys and with me hanging around. I think it resulted in some really nice shots..so I hope they will feel it was worth it :)

I can’t wait to work with them again as their family grows ….

Pancake Breakfast and Class Sing-a-long

December 23rd, 2010

We served a pancake breakfast to my son’s 2nd grade class.  My hubby is the pancake king, and my son was so proud declaring that everyone thought his Dad was the “coolest”!  I asked him what they said about me (you know the one who got all the stuff together and volunteered the pancake king and poured the syrup) he said “no-one said…man that syrup lady was awesome…jeeze mom”

They also sang some cute songs and did some dances for all of us….here is my first try at an animoto video check it out!

Mr. Blue Eyes-Colorado Children’s Photographer

November 6th, 2010

His mom was not kidding when she told me her son had gorgeous eyes! And  long black eye lashes too.

“H” is the oldest of the 3 boys and man I could take pictures of that boy all day.  He was so sweet and not once did I hear a complaint. He did and tried anything I asked him to and all with a sheepish smile. He was so fun and I really had a nice time talking to him and getting to know him better.

Hope- you should be proud you raised such great boys!  What is  your secret?

My Three Sons/Colorado Children’s Photographer

October 27th, 2010

One of new favorite clients lives right in my neighborhood. Hope Cassel is an ob-gyn and mother to 3 fantastic boys.  She is so great with them and lets them be, well them. Their smiles really were the sweetest when she was around, and I think it is a testament to just how much they adore her.

I have gotten to have a portrait session with 2 of them at a local park and I  am anxious to get her oldest on the other-side of my lens as soon as we can fit it in to her busy schedule. (She is in the process of opening her new office which I have no doubt will be very successful.  She is a great mix of knowledge and compassion!)

The boys and I  had fun exploring and getting to know each other. One of them is in the same kindergarten class as my daughter and the other is in the same grade as my son.

Here is “H” her youngest, he had a skateboard and the most practical way I’ve ever seen to ride it ……

And her sweet middle child “G” who was really into leaf collecting while on our shoot :)

Fun Family of Five/Colorado Family and Children’s Photographer

October 27th, 2010

I had so much fun shooting the “P” family.

They are a family of five, 2 older sisters, a busy little bro, and two down to earth parents.  Just like my own family dynamic growing up :)

The kids were not short on personality and I had a lot of fun with them.   I don’t think there was a shy one in the bunch.  I had fun chatting with mom, playing with the kiddos and getting some really great shots.

I can’t wait to work with them and their mom for years to come.

The “A” Family/Colorado Family Photographer

October 25th, 2010

The “A” family is made up of two sweet little girls, and their very loving parents.

The first time I met with them the weather did not want to cooperate and after snapping a few quick pics we had to call it a day because of a cool wind.

The second time we met we had better luck in their backyard.

There were tutu’s, bubbles, and a tea set for us to have fun with and lots of love between them for me to capture.  Those girls were busy and full of spice.  I have no doubt they keep mom and dad joyfully busy.

Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.
