We spent this weekend camping up in Fort Collins.
We stayed in a campsite on Horsetooth Reservoir. Funny name I know.
We all had so much fun! I snapped a few pictures (still not as many as I wished I had) trying to balance enjoying the fun and documenting .
We were in great company with some of our new friends/neighbors. We had an awesome time getting to know them better.
The kids got along well and were little dare devils, trying all kinds of water sports I don’t think you could have talked me into at their age.
C water skied for the first time (in an adorable tuck position I might add) The captain told him to keep his knees bent and he did for his entire ride. He didn’t even fall down. He had to gave us the cut off signal when he looked back and saw how far away from his dad he had skied in the 100 ft+ depths. All the kids were a little nervous about floating solo out in the water. I can’t say it is my most favorite feeling myself! My hubby gets major props for sitting out in the water with all of them as they took their turn. I am pretty sure he swam close to a mile, rushing over to each of them after they fell or let go.
C also wake-boarded ,fished and tubed. And like most little and big boys was mesmerized by the evening campfires.
Beauty was a fish getting in to the lake every time the boat stopped and even in-front of our campsite. She was not afraid to hop in the tube either.
I missed getting those pics though as I was back at camp enjoying the piece and quiet chatting away with a girl friend as we both laid in the most amazing camping recliners ever!
Hopefully I can get some pics from the other mommy who went along for the ride.
I am glad the weather was great and am so thankful for the lack of mosquitoes this trip. On our last camping venture we were not so lucky.
My hubby Brad did all the cooking and the food was tasty. I even enjoyed my ritual morning Bing on our lake front property.
We all came home tired, dirty and proud of the kids who made the most of every minute of their last weekend before school starts.
